My Hypnobirthing & Antenatal classes will give you and your birth partner the knowledge and skills necessary to have an empowering and transformative birth. Hypnobirthing is birth education that starts with your mind. It reframes your brain so you view birth as a positive experience and not a scary one. Birth Doula
My role as a Doula is to provide unwavering physical and emotional support throughout your pregnancy and birth. I’ll be by your side and supporting your choices, whatever they may be, every step of the way. Typically I would be ‘on call’ for you 24/7 from 38 weeks until your baby is born, being present at your birth with you. I offer non judgemental, evidence based support ensuring you feel heard, held and supported.

Postnatal Doula
I offer physical and emotional support to your family in the fourth trimester and beyond, ensuring your transition into motherhood is a smooth one. Unlike a Nanny who typically cares for the baby, a Doula is there to help look after the Mother and the family however they see fit. I am able to care for baby whilst you sleep, cook nutritious meals, help with siblings, take care of light housework, listen to your experiences, walk the dog and more.
What is a doula?
A doula provides emotional & physical support, help and advice to the mother & her family during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. Doula-ing is often worded as ‘Mothering the Mother’ which I think is the perfect description. My care isn't restricted by guidelines and my shift won’t end halfway through your birth. We will build a trusting relationship throughout your pregnancy and i’ll be holding your hand throughout until you no longer need me.
There is growing evidence that shows having a doula present during your birth has benefits such as reduced risk of intervention, reduced risk of c-section, shorter labour and increased satisfaction with your birth experience – check out the Doula UK website for more info.
“As soon as Sophie came into our home we were immediately put at ease. She provides excellent support and guidance with any concerns a mother or family will have when caring for a newborn. While with us, Sophie aided with both my mental and physical well-being, cared for the baby, looked after the home, cooked delicious meals and was an absolute pleasure to be around. I would recommend her for any mum or mum to be!”
