I’m Sophie and I am here to support you. I believe in birth and I believe in you. Your baby will only be born once and the experience will stay with you forever.
Feeling supported through your pregnancy and birth is key to a positive experience. I help to educate and empower you to make the best choices for you and your baby. Together we will create a birth plan to support these choices.
During your labour & birth, I will be with you to ensure your birth space is calm, safe and protected. As your doula, I will ensure you understand all of the options available to you and will advocate for you to have the birth you wish.
As well as providing emotional and physical support during your labour, I remain calm if things don't go to plan and support you and your partner throughout the process. As a doula I don't replace your birth partner, we complement each other and work together to support you.

Doulas aren’t just for unmedicated home births. I support families birthing at home and in hospital, from caesarean to free birth.
Having doula support helps you navigate the NHS and take back your power to make informed decisions rather than them being made for you. You will receive continuity of care which is sadly lacking from our maternity services. A Cochrane review that looked into the evidence of continuous support in labour concluded that having a doula’s support has positive benefits and improves outcomes.

Birth Doula Support
2 x antenatal sessions where I will get to know you and your family. We can create your birth plan, talk through any past experiences and discuss how I can best support you at this wonderful time.
1 x postnatal preparation session.
I will be on call 24/7 for you from 10 days before your due date until your baby arrives. You can call me anytime day or night if you think you are in labour. Whilst on call I’ll never be more than one hour away from your place of birth.
I’ll be with you during active labour, the birth and ‘golden hours’ following until you are ready for me to leave.
1 x postnatal visit to check in with you post birth and support you emotionally & physically with the baby, household tasks or cooking.
Access to my client hub, an online Padlet bursting full of evidence based information.
Available throughout your pregnancy via Whatsapp and phone call to chat, signpost and support you.

Payment: 50% to be paid upfront as a non-refundable deposit. This ensures my availability and the start of your support. Remaining balance due at 38 weeks (start of on-call period).
Travel: Package price includes travel to your place of birth within 1 hour drive from SM12HJ. Parking charges are not included.
